Recreation Soccer
HSC offers outdoor soccer in the fall and spring for ages U5-U19. Boys and girls play on separate teams – except U19 is Coed. Each season has a separate registration. Age divisions U5-U8 receive participation trophies/medals at the end of the season. Age divisions U10 – U19 receive a player gift and play in an end of year tournament (weather and time permitting) and receive champions or finalists medals.

The "U" stands for "Under".  For example, the U5 is Under 5.  List next to each division number during registration is the birth year for player.

Age Divisions run from Fall to Spring.  Each Fall, the age bracket changes.



Hendersonville Soccer Club is making two significant transitions for the upcoming Fall 2026 season:

1. Grade-Level Registration (August 1 – July 31 Age Grouping)
   In alignment with U.S. Soccer’s updated policy (adopted by US Youth Soccer, US Club Soccer, and other major organizations), we are moving from a strict birth-year (January 1 – December 31) system to a seasonal/school-year model using an August 1 – July 31 cutoff. This change better aligns players with their school-grade peers, supports social and developmental development, and reduces issues with "trapped" players. Age groups for the 2026-27 season will be determined by a player’s birthdate within the August 1, 2025 – July 31, 2026 window (and adjusted accordingly for older groups).    An official U.S. Soccer age group calculator is available to help parents: ussoccer.com age group tool.
   
2. New Registration System – Playmetrics
   We are transitioning from our previous platform (Sports Connect / Stack Sports) to Playmetrics, a leading youth sports management system.  Playmetrics (which has recently expanded through acquisitions including SportsEngine) offers a modern, user-friendly experience for registration, payments, scheduling, and communication.  Registration will open soon via the Playmetrics portal. 
   

• Returning families to Playmetrics: Please use your existing email to avoid creating duplicate accounts.
• New families to Playmetrics: Create an account during registration. Contact us if you need login assistance.

• Regular Registration: May 7, 2026 – July 15, 2026
• Late Registration: Begins July 15, 2026 (subject to availability; late fee applies)

Age Divisions

HSC offers recreational outdoor soccer for boys and girls (U19 coed) from U5 to U19.

Divisions may be combined based on registration numbers. Practices and games at Drakes Creek Soccer Complex.

Note: Play-up requests (one age group only) will be considered during regular registration only. Refer to the updated grade-based chart or contact a division director.









How to Register (via Playmetrics)

1. Visit the HSC website and click the registration link (will direct to Playmetrics).
2. Log in (returning users) or create a new account.
3. Enter player information (accurate birthdate is critical for proper age grouping).
4. Select division, answer questions, and complete payment.
5. Coaches/assistants: Enter volunteer info during registration.

All registrations after the deadline go on the waitlist (no charge to join, but placement not guaranteed).

Refund Policy
A credit for a future season (minus $8.50 fee) if canceled before regular registration closes. No refunds/credits after the deadline.

Required Equipment

• Soccer cleats (no toe cleats)
• Shin guards (required at all practices/games)
• Soccer ball (size 3 for U5-U8, 4 for U9-U12, 5 for U14-U19)
• Soccer socks for practices

Practices & Games

• Practices: Volunteer coaches select times based on field availability (U5-U7: 1x/week; U8+: 2x/week). May start up to 2 weeks before first game.
• Games: Primarily Saturdays at Drakes Creek (9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. window). Occasional weeknight games possible. Bye weeks if odd number of teams.

There is no charge to be placed on the waitlist. You must register online. If you have forgotten your login information, please do not create another account. Refund Policy

Waitlist
All registrations received after the deadline are considered late and will be placed on the waitlist. No special requests will be considered during the waitlist period. There is no guarantee that you will be placed on a team. If a spot becomes available, you will be notified via email. Registration costs and fees will be assessed at that time. There is no charge to be placed on the waitlist.

HSC offers the following outdoor age divisions from U5-U19. Please note some age divisions are combined and offerings can differ from fall to spring or by gender. To determine your player's age division, refer to the Birth Year Matrix

HSC offers the opportunity to play up one birth year from a player's true age. Please refer to our Play Up Form under the Parents tab for additional information. All players 18 and older are required to complete SafeSport training to be eligible to play. Information on how to complete SafeSport training is available under the Coaches tab.

Practice
All practices are at Drakes Creek Soccer Complex.  Our volunteer coaches choose the time/day of their practices based on field space.  Practices may start up to two weeks before the first game. U5, U6 and U7 will practice 1 time per week.  U8 – U19 will practice 2 times per week. 
Make-Up Practices: Due to the number of teams, practice fields are booked back-to-back throughout the week.

Games
All games are played at the Drakes Creek Soccer Complex. Games are played on Saturdays with the possibility of an occasional Monday or Tuesday night game. If any age division has an odd number of teams, each Saturday one team will have a bye. Saturday games are scheduled starting at 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Make-Up Games: The yearly calendar has make-up days built into the season. Make-up games or doubleheaders can be played any day during the week.

• Soccer cleats (any cleats with the "toe cleat" such as baseball or football cleats are NOT allowed)
• Shin guards (required to participate in practices or games)
• Soccer ball (U5-U8 size 3, U9-U12 size 4, U14-U19 size 5)
• Soccer socks (for practices)

Special Requests
Being the largest sports league in Sumner County, we must limit special requests.  Our division directors try and place siblings on the same practice nights.  While this is not guaranteed, we will try our best.  We also provide the opportunity during registration to request a certain practice night you CANNOT practice.  With the number of teams participating, this is sometimes not possible.  You can also email your DIVISION DIRECTOR any additional requests.
